Your guide to Easter weekend activities in Flint, Genesee County

FLINT, MI — There will be plenty of goodies to uncover at Easter egg hunts around Genesee County.

Local churches, community leaders and other organizations are creating spaces and events for family-friendly fun outings over the weekend.

Take a look through the list below to plan for the activities you and your family want to attend.

Easter egg hunt, free lunch and bike giveaway with world champion boxer Claressa Shields

Come out and meet Flint’s world champion boxer Claressa Shields and have your children participate in the largest Easter Egg hunt in Genesee County.

The event is at 10 am Saturday, April 16 on the corner of Neff and Coldwater roads.

There will be over 1,500 eggs hidden and those who find a golden egg will win one of 25 bikes.

The Greater Beecher Business Association in partnership with Shields, Roma’s Pizza, Great Giant, @Fitness and Summit Rentals will be providing a free lunch as well.

Sprout Worldwide brings Easter back to downtown Flint

Aiesha Lewis, Owner of Sprout Worldwide, is bringing Easter downtown again with The Downtown Flint Egg-Stravaganza.

Families will be able to play fun games, create unique crafts, take photos to keep the memories and a chance to meet the Easter Bunny.

The event will take place from 2-6p.m. Saturday, April 16 at Riverbank Park off Saginaw Street, between 1st Avenue and Union Street in the city’s downtown area.

Sprout Worldwide was established in 2019. Their mission is to provide opportunities and experiences for youths, families and artists to stimulate growth in the community.

The event is powered by the Flint Institute of Music, Flint Downtown Development Authority, The What’s Up Downtown Flint project, Team Mari and Eye Snap Studios LLC.

Flushing Fire Department Easter Egg Hunt

The Flushing Fire Department will host an Easter egg hunt at noon Saturday, April 16 at Flushing Riverview Park, 230 S. Cherry St., in Flushing.

Arrive by 11:30 am to take in the Easter Bunny arriving by fire truck.

The egg hunt starts at noon sharp, so do not be late, event organizers encouraged.

Candy bags also will be provided for all attendees, and if one is lucky enough to find an egg with a special sticker, it can be turned in for a prize.

Easter weekend meals at Catholic Charities in Flint

It is Holy Week and Catholic Charities has a number of events throughout Easter weekend while hosting their annual giving campaign to raise money for the Center for Hope.

The North End Soup Kitchen, 735 Steward Ave., will be open from 11:30 am-12:30 pm for lunch and 4-5 pm for dinner on Friday, April 15 and Saturday, April 16, as well as 1-2 pm on Easter Sunday.

The Center for Hope, 812 Root St., will be open from noon-1 pm on those same three days for lunch.

Everyone who comes to the North End Soup Kitchen for Easter lunch will receive a free Easter basket.

There is an additional Easter basket giveaway at 2 pm Sunday, April 17 at 6340 N. Genesee Road in Genesee Township.

Easter Sunday dance at Flint Eagles 629

Looking for somewhere to turn up or just get out and dance?

Flint Eagles 629, located at 2149 N. Dort Highway in Flint, will host an Easter Sunday dance on Sunday, April 17.

Doors open at 1 pm Sunday, with music provided by Conjunto Champz from 2-6 pm

Cost is $10 per person with a cash bar.

‘Feed a Family for Easter’ event in Flint

Flint Bethel United Methodist Church, located at 1309 N. Ballenger Highway, will host “Feed a Family for Easter” from 10 am to 1 pm Saturday, April 16.

This will be a food giveaway with food from Flint Fresh and candy sponsored by Flint Mayor Sheldon Neeley and Bethel United Methodist Church.

Genesee Lions Club annual Easter egg hunt

The event, which takes place at 5240 Green Arbor Drive in Genesee Township, starts promptly at 11 am Saturday, April 16.

Kids of all ages are encouraged to enjoy the activities.

Event organizers encourage arriving early as the event will start on time.

Community Easter Bash

This Easter celebration is set for 2 pm Saturday, April 16 at LightHouse Spirit of God Church, located at 1657 Mabel Ave. in Flint.

There will be an Easter Egg hunt for all ages, free hot dogs and games.

Kids will also receive a free Easter gift.

Easter Egg Hunt in Clio

A free community Easter egg hunt will occur at 10 am Saturday, April 16 at Bethany United Methodist Church, located at 353 E Vienna Street in Clio.
