‘World of Warcraft’ Expansion

Last March 7, Blizzard Entertainment announced some of its plans for its hit multiplayer online game title “World of Warcraft.”

The developer of “World of Warcraft” also disclosed that it would be revealing its expansion this April.

However, before Blizzard officially announced the new expansion of “World of Warcraft,” a leak on the website of the gaming title leaked what appears to be what’s coming to the game.

As per a news story by PC Gamer, the source code of the official “World of Warcraft” website appears to have revealed the next expansion of the gaming title.

‘World of Warcraft’ Expansion: ‘Dragonflight?’

The news outlet said in its report that the source code included some hints regarding the upcoming expansion, including codes like “Dragongfight, “epic,” “heroic,” and “base.”

PC Gamer went on to explain one of the codes found on the official website of the online multiplayer game, specifically “Dragonflight.”

As it turns out, “Dragonflight” is known in the world of the gaming title as a subspecies of a dragon, which sports ancient progenitors and various powers.

However, it is worth noting that dragons in “World of Warcraft” have been in a consistent decline for years already. It comes after the Cataclysm expansion was released long ago in 2010, wherein it marked the defeat of the Deathwing.

COLOGNE, GERMANY – AUGUST 14: Visitors try out the massively multiplayer online role-playing game ‘World Of Warcraft’ at the Blizzard Entertainment stand at the 2014 Gamescom gaming trade fair on August 14, 2014 in Cologne, Germany. Gamescom is the world’s largest gaming convention and this year includes over 600 exhibitors.

Some speculations have been suggesting that the new expansion has something to do with the mysterious Dragon Isles of Azeroth.

Windows Central also noted that there have been other leaks on Reddit, which showed posters, as well as other promo arts, of the new “World of Warcraft” expansion, which echoes the source code sighting.

However, it is worth pointing out that the leaked promo materials have yet to be verified.

It is contrary to the source code leak, which comes straight from the official website of “World of Warcraft” itself.

Despite that, though, the latest source code leak should also be taken with a grain of salt as Blizzard Entertainment has yet to confirm any details regarding the new expansion.
