Mar. 5, 12 & 19: On-Farm Composting for Farms and Ranches

Presented by the Solana Center, attendees will learn composting basics, best management practices, benefits and more, in a course oriented toward horse farms and small farms. Class runs from 9 am to 12:30 pm, and priority registration is given to unincorporated San Diego County residents. Class is $25 per person. To register, visit solanacenter.org.

Anytime Fitness is hosting a blood drive in partnership with the San Diego Blood Bank from noon to 5 pm Anyone age 17 and older, who weighs at least 114 pounds and is in good health, may be eligible to donate blood. Mar. 9: Ramona Garden Club Presents Andy Blue of Project Wildlife

At noon, Andy Blue — who is the campus director of Project Wildlife Ramona of the San Diego Humane Society — will talk about the organization’s facilities and animal care, and offer stories about interesting animal guests. Mar. 12: Ramona Community Cleanup

From 9 to 11 am, join I Love A Clean San Diego and fellow Ramonans in diverting litter from entering the San Dieguito Watershed to keep it from reaching the Pacific Ocean. A community service letter can be requested upon completion of the cleanup. All volunteers must sign liability waivers, and children under 18 years of age must provide a waver signed by a guardian. Republican Women of California — Intermountain welcomes the KOGO radio host to its meeting at the San Vicente Golf Resort. Meet-and-greet starts at 11 a.m., with lunch and DeMaio’s presentation to follow at 11:30 a.m. Cost is $20, and reservations are required. Call 760-315-3291.

Mar. 18: Ramona Concert Association Presents the San Diego Concert Band

Founded in 1989, the band is led by Roy Anthony Jr., who served as coordinator for the opening ceremonies of the 2000 Summer Olympic Games. The band will perform a Spring Bouquet-themed set. Doors open at 6 pm, and the concert starts at 6:30 pm Tickets, which are $15 for adults and $5 for students and children, will be available at the door.
