May 2022 Events at Fall River Heritage State Park

FALL RIVER — From gallery talks and exhibits to hands-on workshops and a swing dance, Heritage State Park has something for every member of the family this spring.

The following are featured programs for May:

Southcoast Spring Arts Week: Exhibits and Programs

Exhibits Ongoing 9 am to 3 pm daily from May 1 to May 15

Visitor Center

Fall River Heritage State Park presents a multimedia celebration of the city’s early Pocasset Wampanoag history featuring an iconic 17th century diorama of a Wampanoag village along with the Quequechan waterfall by David Jennings.

Also on exhibit:

Photography of contemporary local Native American life connecting the past with the present in the Community Gallery.

Interpretive oil portraits of Sachems Weetamo and Metacomet by artist Sheila Oliveira to be unveiled with a gallery talk by Ms. Oliveira on the challenges of painting historical portraits.

Pocasset Exhibit

May 1 to May 30, 9 am—3 pm

Presented by the Pocasset Wampanoag Tribe of MA and RI.

Native American Diorama and Plymoth Diorama

May 1 to May 30, 9 am to 3 pm

Presented by David Jennings of Southcoast Historical Associates.
