K-Pop takes center stage at MTV VMAs 2022 with four historic wins

There were some historic wins for K-pop at the MTV Video Music Awards today! Be it breaking records or setting new ones, K-pop really took center stage. From BTS to Blackpink, here artists are all the K-pop who dominated the award show.

BTS – Group of the Year

Once again, bagging the ‘Group of the Year,’ BTS broke the record for most consecutive wins in this category as this is their fourth year winning. They were nominated alongside BLACKPINK, City Girls, Imagine Dragons, Silk Sonic, Foo Fighters, Red Hot Chilli Peppers and Måneskin.

SEVENTEEN – Push Performance of the Year

Winning ‘Push Performance of the Year’ for their December 2021 release rock with you, K-pop boy group SEVENTEEN also made history! Although they were unable to attend the event, the members thanked their fans via a video.

Blackpink’s Lisa – Best K-pop

The Blackpink member took a historic win at the VMAs! Taking home the award for ‘Best K-Pop’ with her solo LALISA, she is the first soloist to win this category. Lisa’s solo debut had been nominated alongside SEVENTEEN’s HOT‘BTS’ Yet To Come (The Most Beautiful Moment)ITZY’s LOCOStray Kids’ MANIA and TWICE’s The Feels.
