How to Watch the Uncharted Movie: Everything We Know

After a long and bumpy road, the Uncharted movie is finally set to arrive in theaters later this month. While Nathan Drake’s adventures may have begun on PlayStation, Tom Holland will help bring the character to life on the big screen in a prequel story that will give us a glimpse into how he became the treasure hunter we all know and love.

Fans of the series will also have plenty to look forward to, as Mark Wahlberg will be joining Holland as Victor “Sully” Sullivan and we’ve already seen glimpses of scenes that look to be taken straight from the games.

Is Nathan Fillion in Uncharted or Was He Ever Considered for Nathan Drake?

The Uncharted Movie’s Video Game Origins

Of course, the Uncharted movie is based on an action-adventure series of the same name by developer Naughty Dog. The first game – Uncharted: Drake’s Fortune – was released on PlayStation 3 in 2007 and was followed by Uncharted 2: Among Thieves in 2009, Uncharted 3: Drake’s Deception in 2011, and Uncharted 4: Thief’s End in 2016.

“My hair in Uncharted is much cooler,” Holland said to Esquire. “I have cool shaved sides and it’s slick at the back, and that’s not very Peter Parker. He’s a bit of a loser. So they put this wig on me that was just around the sides.

“For the first time in my life, I put my foot down as the leading actor and was like, ‘I’m not f***** wearing that wig. You can just . . . I’m going to have shorter hair and you’re going to have to deal with it.”’”
