Rocket City Kittypalooza 2022

This annual event was created to promote public awareness about the importance of spaying and neutering pets, strays, barn cats, and feral colonies. There is a multi-rescue kitten adoption event from 11-2, kitten yoga from 6-7 (reservations required) and a formal masquerade ball from 6-9 pm. And goody bags for the first 300 guests! Visit cattyshackhsv.org and go to our “Events” page to see the itinerary and for links to reserve time in the cat lounge, a spot in kitten yoga, and to pre-order your event t-shirt. The masquerade ball has a $5 cover charge donated directly to Cattyshack and is hosted by Dragon’s Forge Cafe and Ravenwood Meadery on the second floor of Lowe Mill.

Approximately fifty teams and more than 1,200 paddlers will make waves in Decatur the second Saturday in May when the Dragon Boat Race and Festival returns for the ninth year. A fundraiser for the Decatur Morgan Hospital Foundation, the family-friendly event is set for May 14, 2022, with opening ceremonies at 8:30 a.m. and competition on the water getting underway at 9 a.m. Presented by Toray Carbon Fibers, the daylong event takes place at the Point Mallard Aquatic Center.
