  2. On Wednesday, right around 8:41 pm, reports of shots fired sent police officers to the intersection of Appleton Street and Bonito Avenue. A witness said that they saw two men in an argument that turned into a shooting. Both fled. However, “officers located evidence on scene, indicating a shooting had occurred.” (LBPD Blotter)
  3. It’s official! The Long Beach Unified School District (LBUSD) announced Wednesday that it will “offer full-day kindergarten and transitional kindergarten (TK) programs this fall.” “The district says that for 2022-23, TK classes are for students born between Sept. 2, 2017, and Feb. 2, 2018. Kindergarten will be for students born between Sept. 2, 2016, and Sept. 1, 2017. ” (LB Post)
  4. Architecture Week is coming back to the City this June. The event will run, for the fourth time, from June 8 to 12. It “will feature both indoor and outdoor events, some free and some not, including walking tours and lectures.” One Highlight will be a lecture by USC Architecture Professor Doris Sung, the inventor of the InVert Self-Shading Window, on “rethinking building facades as part of the city’s infrastructure.” (Press-Telegram)
  5. Mark your calendars! The Long Beach Cactus Club has its annual sale on Sunday at the Women’s Club of Bellflower. And, if you like the nice folks you might meet there, consider joining, meeting once a month and “nerding out.” (Signal Hill Tribune)
